It varies from state to state and we will help you apply.
In most states (Tasmania, NSW, Queensland, South Australia* and Western Australia*) you will simply apply for reimbursement via the HWSP Bursary program.
If you are in Victoria or NT you have more choice and can either choose to apply via HWSP or there are other funding applications you can choose - we will advise you which is best for your circumstances once you choose one or more of the courses.
To qualify for the HWSP reimbursement you must practice in a rural or remote area, classified as MM3-7. You can check out your classification here https://www.health.gov.au/resources/apps-and-tools/health-workforce-locator/health-workforce-locator
Simply go to that page, choose Modified Monash Model 2019 and type your town into the "Find Address" section. If you are in a MM 3-7 area in all states or an MM 2-7 area in Victoria and NT you will qualify.
Note: SA and WA have time windows when you can apply and considerably more restrictions than other states, so we suggest contacting SA HWSP and WA HWSP for more information. Their existing application window can sometimes be found on their websites, however it is usually kept secret until they choose to announce it https://www.ruralhealthwest.com.au/general-practice/professional-development/health-workforce-scholarship-program and https://www.ruraldoc.com.au/health-workforce-scholarship-program
Also note, unlike other states, SA will only allow one claim at a time, so we suggest only buying one course at a time if you practice in rural SA. Also with SA, not only do you need to claim in a specific window of time, but you must not start the CPD until after that window is closed. Clear as mud? Contact us if you live and practice in Rural SA and we can talk you though it.
